SPHS PTCA MEETINGS
**PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDAR**
*All Meetings are at 6:00 p.m.
THANK YOU PARENTS, FACULTY, STUDENTS AND FELLOW PTCA PARTNERS!
On behalf of the SPHS PTCA, thanks to all who attended our last PTCA General Meeting of this school year on June 14, 2011! We were fortunate enough to serve a nice dinner for all who were in attendance! And if that wasn't good enough, we topped off the evening with some delicious cake and coffee.
In addition to celebrating the end of a second school year here at Sunset Park High School, we had a very successful PTCA/SLT Election Night. We are happy to announce and welcome our new executive board members for the 2011-2012 school year:
SPHS PTCA Co-President: Margarita Rosas
SPHS PTCA Co-Secretary: Lilia Ochoa
SPHS PTCA Treasurer: Norma Amalbert
In addition, we welcome our new parent members of the School Leadership Team:
SLT Parent: Pomposa Pena
SLT Parent: Nancy Perez
Please note that another election will take place in the fall of the upcoming school year to afford incoming parents the opportunity to run and become part of the SPHS PTCA.
**SAVE THE DATE**
On June 21, 2011 @ 5pm, join us as we unite and rally for our school. We need all parents to come out and rally for our children, our school and our community. As Principal Vinal stated at the June 14th meeting, we have fought for so many years to get a HS in our community. Now we have one BUT the DOE demands we share the building with Brooklyn Prospect Charter School. We have been sharing our school building for 2 years now. The DOE's promise was that the charter school would only be at our school for 2 years. Well their 2 years are up and we need them out! It is not fair to our students. This is not what our community signed up for. Come out on June 21st and let us know how you feel! Join the PTCA in this rally!
